How expensive is natural paint?

Natural paint prices fall within the same range as conventional petrochemical based paints. When you compare the price (RRP) of a pot of earthborn emulsion or Biopin emulsion with the likes of Farrow&Ball, Fired Earth, Dulux Heritage or Albany to name but a few earthborn and Biopin come out very favorably. You can of course get a basic pot of petrochemical emulsion from your local trade supplier for half the price, but that is not comparing like with like.

When you then go on to consider how well the paint performs the results come out even more in favor of our natural paints as they often require 1 less coat than their conventional competitors. That means not only can you cover more of your walls with one pot of paint, but you save time to!

Natural wood paints are often seen as expensive and if you compare them by volume in the tin they are often more than their conventional alternatives. There are however other factors to consider including how far the product goes, how long it will last and how easy it is to renovate. On all these counts, the correct natural paint used in the correct way can prove a great deal more economical than a conventional petrochemical based alternative.

Of course all the above is in addition to the considerable savings offered by using natural paints with respect to human health and the environment.
